After detailed deliberation, keeping in view the fact that (a)
the difference between the pension of pre and post 1.1.06 Majors and pre and
post 1.1.06 Major Generals is significant, and (b) this difference has been
causing dissatisfaction to the ex-servicemen, the Committee recommends the
second option i.e. to step up the pension of pre 01.01.06 Commissioned Officer
pensioners with reference to the minimum of the fitment table instead of minimum
of the pay band. This dispensation would also be
applicable to Honorary Commissioned Officers. As a result of the stepping up, the minimum pension to be granted to various ranks of pre 1.1.06 pensioners will be as under:

Min pension
(pre 2006)
|
Min pension as per Sixth CPC recommendations
|

On re organization of group and trade wef 10.10.1997, the existing group of A to E were amalgamated and re grouped as X,Y and Z. Simultaneously the pay scale of JCOs ORs Sep to Sub were got revised but the Sub Maj the prestigious post was found neglected and kept unchanged. There by Sub Maj belongs to Y Group was placed below the Sub of X group. The case were taken up with Srervice HQ from all the corners and the result was keep the issue in cold store. As on date Sub Maj Y Group is drawing less pay and allowances and pension. Now the X Group pay got increased to 6200 fron 1400. Normally in Army the post of Sub Maj is very less in compare to Sub and they are entrusted with administrative duty rather than their trade work. Service HQ and particularly tge pay cell functioning at Service HQ level never project the genuine demands to the respective Pay Commission
